It is the time of the year to take a short break from school work and indulge in some enriching and interesting fun programmes.
Our Academy will be conducting our modular and structured ‘Learn to Play Chess Programmes’.
These programmes are suitable for young children from as young as 5 years old up to 12 years of age.
Beginners – Children will learn basic concepts about the game: the board, the pieces and the rules, as well as simple offensive and defensive thinking skills.
Elementary 1 and 2 – Children will learn basic but important endgame checkmates and general principles to follow throughout the game.
Intermediate 1 and 2 – Children will learn useful pawn structures and tactics that build the foundation of their tactical capabilities.
Each module will be conducted over a period of 5 days (Mon to Fri), 3 hours each day (2.5 hours for Beginners). The session will include both theory and practical engagements.
Week 1: 29 May – 2 June
Week 2: 5 June – 9 June
Week 3: 12 June – 16 June
Week 4: 19 June – 23 June
Time slots: 10.00 am – 1.00 pm, 2.00 pm – 5.00 pm
Besides the above programmes, we also conduct thematic courses on Openings, Middle games End games and critical thinking skills through Chess
